DESCRIPTION:Interested in connecting with fellow educators? \n \n \n The Early Childhood Hoosiers Outdoors (ECHO) Network is designed to support education practitioners wanting to get students into outdoor learning settings. We meet on the second Monday of odd months at 4 pm by zoom. \n \n \n \n Eva Webb from Fox Island County Park will share ways in which students can learn about nature through a drumming program! \n \n \n \n \n \n Bio: Eva Webb is the environmental educator at Fox Island County Park which is part of Allen County Parks. She received her master’s in Environmental Education from Goshen College’s Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center. She is a former interpretive naturalist with the Indiana State Parks. She grew up near the Appalachian Trail in south central Pennsylvania, spending lots of time in nature. She and her family spent 12 years in southern California where she was an avid hiker. Eva now lives in Huntington, Indiana. She just celebrated 25 yrs of marriage and has 3 adult children. Eva learned to be a drum circle facilitator in the fall of 2023 and is passionate about using it to help people connect to the natural world and to each other. \n \n \n \n The purpose of this network includes: \n \n \n \n A group of peers: Connecting educators and administrators for support, guidance, encouragement, troubleshooting, etc. \n A common space for sharing resources and best practices \n Opportunities for professional development \n Shared advocacy and continuing education around nature-based programs \n Program observation \n and more! \n \n \n \n The network was inspired by a surge of interest in program formats such as Nature Preschools, Forest Kindergartens, and Forest Schools; however, it is an inclusive group for those working with young children in any format. Our interests center on developmentally-appropriate educational opportunities for children in outdoor settings, whether in the woods, on the prairie, or in the schoolyard. \n \n \n We want this network to be dynamic and responsive to emerging needs of participants. We encourage you to join us on this journey of mutual exploration and learning! \n \n \n \n If you are interested in knowing more, sign up below to join. Participants will be added to a Google group to get email updates for monthly meeting times and to post question to others within the group. If you have previously registered for any other ECHO Network sessions, you do not need to register again as you will automatically receive the zoom link via the Google group. \n
